In early 2025, Yuxin Yuntong received a cooperation inquiry from a client in New York, U.S. The client needed to customize doors and windows for an office building and required a batch of thermal break aluminum system windows that meet U.S. energy efficiency standards. However, the cooperation hit a snag at the initial stage due to a critical issue: the project needed to pass the local government’s green building approval, and the doors and windows must hold NFRC certification (National Fenestration Rating Council Certification, a core standard for measuring the energy performance of doors and windows such as thermal insulation and light transmission). At that time, Yuxin Yuntong’s core products had not yet obtained this certification.

The client admitted during the communication: “We have inspected Yuxin Yuntong’s product samples. The 85-series thermal break aluminum with a three-cavity and three-seal structure, along with the enhanced Low-E insulated glass, offers better thermal insulation performance than the two Chinese suppliers we previously contacted. Moreover, the price is only 60% of that of U.S. local brands. However, New York’s Green Building Standards are very strict—without NFRC certification, we can’t get the construction permit for the project at all. We even planned to switch to a Canadian supplier that has the certification but charges a much higher price. That is, unless you can guarantee to obtain this certificate before we receive the goods.”

Upon learning of the client’s needs, Yuxin Yuntong did not give up. Immediately, the company set up a “NFRC Certification Special Team” consisting of members from the technology, quality control, and foreign trade departments, and formulated a 4-month certification promotion plan.
The certification process was not smooth sailing. NFRC certification has strict requirements for indicators such as the thermal transmittance (U-value), solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC), and visible light transmittance (VT) of doors and windows. Additionally, it requires the submission of English technical documents and sending samples to designated laboratories for testing.
After making extensive efforts, Yuxin Yuntong finally succeeded in obtaining the certificate within the time specified by the client.
In July of the same year, the first batch of doors and windows arrived at the construction site in New York. After installation, they underwent a re-inspection by the local construction authority, and all energy performance indicators were qualified, allowing the project to start smoothly. The client said during the acceptance inspection: “Yuxin Yuntong not only helped us solve the certification problem but also proved with product quality that they are not just ‘focused on low prices’ but ‘meet needs with professionalism’. We will definitely choose them again for our next community development project.”
As the person in charge of Yuxin Yuntong said: “Clients’ requirements are never a ‘burden’ but an opportunity for us to upgrade our capabilities and open up new markets. Solving a certification problem for a client is actually opening a door for the brand to enter a broader market.”
